Overview

Ke Lovu was founded durring the early 13th century in winter of the year 1234, by Shnih Èlëg̈. The establishment of Ke Lovu was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shnih Èlëg̈ struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Ke Lovu as a prison colony.

Ke Lovu was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ke Lovu is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Ke Lovu is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow paverstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. Unfortuantly, these failry decent fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Even the most brief look arround Ke Lovu has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in Ke Lovu, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.

Ke Lovu's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Ke Lovu was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Ke Lovu lost 179 people, 223 livestock, and 95 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 127, when members of Ke Lovu's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Ke Lovu's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Ke Lovu's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
